How to find your bank branch location and other details without getting cheated?

Finding the location of a bank branch is an easy job these days. You can find this out easily on the internet.

Tofind tthe locations of bank branches, you can simply ask for the available branches in the Google search console. And the Google search console will throw up the best matches with your query.

But, you must be careful while you are using the information from the internet sources. As far as finding the physical location is concerned, it’s ok. You will be able to use the address to reach there.

But, if you are planning to use the information available on the internet for any kind of banking purpose then please make sure that you have the authentic information in your hand. Please make sure that you are not being duped for by fabricated information available on the internet these days.

Let me give you an examples here.

Using the wrong phone numbers

There was this guy who needed some help with his Debit Card. So, he went on the internet. And there, he searched for the customer care number of his bank. He just typed his bank name and customer care. And he found a match to his query. So, he called up that number.

How do you know who’s the person on the other side. It may be or may not not be the genuine guy to take help from. Our friend spoke to the guy on the other side and told him his problem. The fraudster(who was on the other side) first asked our innocent friend to down load an App on his smart phone. This was noting but a Spyware. After the poor chap downloaded the Spyware, it was just a child’s play for the fraudster to steal ll his data.

The fraudster could see what our friend typed. So, he logged into his bank account from his end and sent the OTPs. And asked our friend, who became a victim to share the OTPs. And in minutes, his account was wiped off all his funds. He had closed to a lac of money in INR. And the fraudater took away 98,000/-.

The poor only realized it after the bank SMS messages that he recieved. This guy was an Army guy who was cheated in this way. I felt very bad these folks are our saviors prote ring our boundaries and keep us safe and letting us sleep peacefully at night.

I would have felt the same pain had it been someone else. But this was just so much more painful. So, the moral of the story is:

Authenticate the information and be double sure before you use the info available on the internet. Look for the S in https. The S stands for the safety and the data encryption. You can be sure that the site is an aithentic one and your input data will not be available to the fraudsters for misuse.
