So, I was travelling in Vande Bharat. We had planned this trip to go and visit Shirdi. You get Vande Bharat from the CST sharp at 6:20 am.
Having booked our tickets online, I was pretty sure that there won’t be much hassles regarding the verification of tickets. While I had not much travelled in Vande Bharat, I had the experience of travelling in normal trains where the train ticket examiner simply asks your name and looking at the members, he makes up his mind that he had checked the tickets and he would be right.
But, on this trip in Vande Bharat that I learner something new about our legality of ID documents. When he approached a traveler 4 seats before me and enquired for the tickets, he also asked for the ID. She took out the image of the tickets booked online. And for ID, she flipped to the next image of her photo ID. And turned her phone towards the TTE. The TTE refused to accept the ID proof.
Do you know that an image of an ID is not treated equivalent to a photo ID? I wasn’t aware of it. As a matter of practice, I have followed the principle of seeing the originals always.
